of milk and motherhood....

I have been meaning to blog our most recent birth story for over a month now.  I cannot believe how quickly this month has flown by!  Our 7lb 7 oz baby boy who dropped down to 6 lb 11 ounces is now thriving.

If I have learned anything from becoming a mother and all that entails three times in seven years, it is flexibility.  When I was a Teacher many years ago, I learned to adapt my lesson plans in order to help my students learn. Ok, in all honesty, I often flew by the seat of my pants or deviated from my plans anyway, but don't tell anyone.  I have learned that adaptation is critical for survival as a Mom, too, and more importantly, for my children.  In my next few posts I hope to revisit my ideals, preconceived notions about labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and post-partum life and share how my reality has become a unique and beautiful blend of ideas and practices.

If you are still checking my blog, thanks. :)  I hope to come back a little more often, but we'll see.  I am full of good intentions, it's the follow through that often eludes me.
