A while ago, I won a drawing on another blog and forgot about it.  Last week, I received an e-mail from Carolyn, verifying my address.  My package came today!  Not only that, she threw in an extra bit of somethings... scrapping somethings, to be specific.  A cute little make n' take complete with bits of fabric, buttons, some chalk AND rub-ons.  Now I really need to get back to scrapping!

The original prize was fun, too.  Something only a Mom of littles could truly appreciate, but still fun. A bright (Tennessee) orange basket overflowing with some  Boogie Wipes,  a "Boogie Babe" onesie, and a "Boogie Mama" T-shirt.  Bear loves the wipes, and apparently Buddy does, too, because he keeps wiping his face with the one I just used to wipe his boogers.

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for....

• my beloved. his unconditional love and support.
• my sweet little girl and the baby on the way
• my friends... in real life and online
• my dishwasher. have i mentioned how undomestic i am?
• my friend's healthy new baby girl
• bulbs that peek through the ground to tell me that Spring is going to come
• a daughter that loves learning new things, like how to kill slugs with salt
• my vaccum
• smoothie king... think i need to treat myself today
• sunshine
  

1st Thankful Thursday of 2008

• A loving, patient (with me) husband
  
• A healthy, vibrant, cuddly 2 year old daughter
• A tiny new life developing inside me, which has been fearfully and wonderfully designed by the Creator.
  
• Passing the 6week 4day point in this pregnancy, which was the point when I started bleeding the last time around.
• "Morning" sickness (that hits any time). I will tire of feeling sick but for now it lets me know that changes are taking place.
• The freedom to choose where, how and by whom our babies are delivered... unless God decides to have a sense of humor and we don't make it to the hospital in time.
  
• Sunny weather than actually feels like January.
• Friends and family who have been through loss of a baby and know exactly how to pray.
• Friends and family who haven't lost a child, but care and pray, too.
• Afternoon naps. Bear is down for hers; I think I'm going to take one, too.
  

Thankful Thursday- Here are some things I am grateful for today:

Last night's rain soaked our yard
Bear slept in until 8, and I eventually fell back asleep.
I remembered to put the trash out. It was quite full this week, so the garage would have been really stinky if I had forgotten. (That's usually hubby's job.)
Hubby can stay with family when working out of town this week... and keep Tech Mom company!
We live pretty close to the airport.

Thankful Thursday: blessings

Yes, this is material. No deep spiritual significance to my thankfulness today. Today I am thankful for extra 25% off spring clearance items I found at Babies R Us. Baby Bear inherited quite a few shorts from her cousins, but their matching shirts didn't survive their active lifestyle. The poor girl has been sleeping in 18 month pj's for far too long now (she wears 2T). I've picked up a couple of pj's along the way, and now with the shorts and tees, she should be all set for pj's and play clothes in her size. I paid about $3 per piece on average (the pj set brought up the average, the individual pieces were $2 something each.)

I've already warned hubby that unless Baby Bear stops growing, there is a possibility that she may not fit into her winter hand-me-downs. (His pay can't hit fast enough.) That's what happens when you have a child that eats like Cookie Monster. I am glad I haven't shopped ahead a whole lot; that would have been a waste of money, even for bargains. I do expect she may lose a pound or two while chasing after the big girls next week.

So anyway, good sales make me VERY Thankful this Thursday. Now to quit procrastinating and get packing...

Thankful Thursday-Joy




This week's theme for Thankful Thursday is "Joy".
How fitting, since I have been on a hormonal roller coaster this week, struggling to look past how I feel and embrace life. So here are some things which bring me joy, especially when I want to just stay in bed or sit on the couch:

• Our toddler. She is so busy, so joyful, and so affectionate. Her belly-laugh fills any room.
  
• My hubby. He is very patient during the tough times, understanding & even helped with dinner by grilling what I prepared 2 days in a row!
• These cruddy symptoms should be gone before we leave for our family vacation in Gulf Shores next week.
• The Lord's faithfulness IS new every morning. Just because I had a rough day yesterday (note- not 1 thing on my weekly tackle list got done), doesn't mean today has to be a repeat. Now, where is that ibuprofen? It's easier to be joyful when the wonders of science have kicked in!
  
• Blue's Room DVD- I can go get a shower while BabyBear has a playdate with her friends on the tv screen.
• Rain. We had more rain storms yesterday afternoon. (The crabgrass is thriving. At least it's green.) The day lillies and black-eyed susans are flowering. Oh, so are the pink spirea shrubs. Their bloom is so delicate, reminds me a little of queen-anne's lace, but it is pink and smaller.

May the joy of the Lord be our strength today!

as the garage door opened when hubby pulled in the driveway, Baby Bear immediately exclaimed, "Dada... dada how!" That's her version of "Daddy's home!"

Thankful Thursday...

Today I celebrate my husband. He was born 29 years ago. He is a wonderful partner, friend and father. He made me laugh when I first met him, and while life often seems more serious these days, he still makes me laugh. God has given him a desire to protect and care for his family that many people never get. He works hard to provide for us, and the gift of his faithful companionship is something I cherish. Happy Birthday, Hubby! Te amo mas y mas!
