my procrastinaholicism reached a new low
One might think I exaggerate how badly I tend to put things off. I don't. If you don't believe me, this will convince you.
The missing referral my sis mentioned in her recent blog post? Mine. I got the letter in early February.
Anything that looks like a big project makes me freak. Housework, for instance. I wonder how much it would cost a professional organizer to come help my purge and sort this place and the storage unit. Hubby is sick of stubbing his toes on the kids toys in the living room. (I say we need a bigger living room.)
Yeah, well, for once my irrational nadaphobia (my word for fear of nothing) impacted someone else more than myself. She's accepted my apology. (In her words, she "knows how I roll.") The referral is in the mail, the other missing links in their adoption process are being filled in, and soon they will be one step closer to having a brother or sister for my niece, J.
It's not even that I didn't want to do it, I was honored to be asked. Let's just say that I'm glad I'm not the one going through a psych eval right now.

shhh.... (hope hubby isn't reading this)
i broke the rules. i bought an adorable mini-rose bush with white buds on it. and 2 geraniums. all 4 cost me less than $5, but i had previously been asked not to spend any more on my flower fetish/ocd/whatever-you-want to call it. so i do feel a bit guilty. yes, over $5. really. but the metal urn begged to have adornment after being abandoned by the chinese lanterns, and i read somehwere that japanese beetles don't like geraniums. i dug some dirt out of my veggie pots. baby bear thought the plants were growing out of "cake" when I pulled them from their plastic pots. i guess we've let her have too much chocolate cake and brownies in the past. :-)
the decorative urn was given to us by my college roommates. it held the birdseed which was later thrown at us as we left our wedding reception... they were thrown mostly indoors because it started raining during the reception. God bless my friend's mom, thewonderful woman who vacuumed up that mess. (she's wonderful in other ways, too.) i saw the white mini-rose bush and had to at least try to get it to survive. i had white roses in my bouquet and the bridesmaids' bouquets.
if he doesn't read this, then i wonder how long it will take him to notice the new additions to my floral family.

above the stove and into the bowl, sending flour and baking soda flying everywhere.)
Baby Bear decided she liked the floor better covered in flour.
Yummy Nestle-Tollhouse homemade chocolate-chip cookies.
Without nuts.
All's well that ends well!

strange
i hope it's not too strange that i found a funeral service beautiful. but i did. what was not beautiful was the mess i just made. my fresh mug of rasberry zinger tea with honey was on the wicker chest/coffee table. i put my feet on the table. hubby didn't think he needed to remind me the cup was there. my guafinacin/cough drop/inhaler/zpac overloaded brain needed the reminder, god bless him for not trying to patronize me. thank God for woolite/oxy clean carpet cleaner. it's the best.
