| Friday Felicities: Resumed |
PMS and my anxiety issues have reared their evil, ugly head this week. I hate it when that happens, but it is what it is. When Sara reminded me of this lost attitude adjuster/meme, I decided to try to let go of my pity party, and give them over to the One who created me for so much more.
"The joy of the LORD is my strength."
So, that ugly stuff aside, here are the things that have made me happy this week:
- My 2 1/2 year old boy is currently taking spoons out of the drawer, dipping them in my coffee, and licking them, then returning them to the drawer. Yes, I realize that means I will have to wash all the spoons and the silverware holder in that drawer. But who can resist a little boy who says, "Mommy, spoon for you! Drink!" This is the same boy who returned his sippy cup to the cabinet after it had been used. I love how he asserts his independence, even if the result is more work for me.
- My 5 year old daughter and her obsession with yarn. There is a pile of snipped pieces on my counter, I have no idea why she loves cutting it so much, but it's one of those endearing things she has picked up. Time for some yarn art with glue and paper in addition to the pieces I find all over.
- The weather. Both the sunshine and the rain. It's fun discovering what the precious owners had in the flowerbeds, and adding my own. And I am always amazed by how rain perks up the flowers better than watering with our hose. The kids and I are enjoying being able to play outside, whether it is in the yard or at one of the many parks. Hubby even rode his motorcycle to work yesterday. It was chilly in the morning, but perfect on the way home!
- An old friend's upcoming visit (and meeting the guy who has brought a new dose of joy to her life.)
- Our basic charcoal grill. We "splurged" on a gas grill at our old house. The starter went out, and then we gave it away when we moved. We are loving the return to the flavor of charcoal. Apparently a wild animal loved the leftovers on our scraper, it disappeared one night.
- My grill-master hubby who cooks meat on that grill.
- New friends in the making, for me and the littles. The thought of getting together with people I barely know almost gives me an anxiety attack, but it is worth it in the end.

Friday Felicities
- Freshly cut flowers and greenery from the spirea shrubs
- A full week where my beloved came home at the end of each work day
- Homemade "starbucks:" coffee with a bit of dark chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and cinnamon in addition to the usual milk and sugar
- Listening to the birds on the balcony (and the sound of them rustling in the chimney, which never gets used here in the warm South- At least it's good for something)
- Seeing the treetops from the balcony
- Discovering what new wildflower will bloom this week in my little balcony mystery pot
- Two healthy, fun-loving kids
- Panda Express for supper last night, on a day where I really needed to eat somewhere other than at home
- The cheerful red wall in my living room
- Dental coverage on our insurance
- My husband taking the day off so I don't have to drag little man to the dentist's office along with big sis, who is going for the first time and a little bit nervous
- An uninterrupted shower with plenty of time for shaving my legs
- Silence beyond the clicking of the keyboard
- Romans 8:1

*A decent night and morning's sleep, even if it was in 2 distinct chunks.
* Waking to the sound of my sweet Bear playing quietly in her room.
* Same Sweet Bear giggling (as her diaper tickled her bottom when she walked into my room. Discovering it really was not that wet, so perhaps night time training is not too far off afterall....)
* Codeine- thankfully I'm not allergic. I will be careful not to get addicted. But after it stops working. ;)
* Gentle rain for my flowers (though I hope it stops so hubby can go on his bike trip this afternoon/tomorrow. He's been looking forward to it.)
* A cuddly micro-fleece blanket.
* Someone to cuddle in the blanket with me. (Hubby or Bear, preferably.)
* My spirited niece is turning 7 today. Happy Birthday, Emily!!!!
* FREE FONTS from ScrapnFonts! Some really cute kid fonts. Limited time.

Friday Felicities- a day late
This was a good week for me. Steph at Punkin' Press participates in this meme, which keeps alive the memory of a dear W@H sister in Christ who God healed of cancer by taking her home to Him. Becky posted a reminder on the W@H message boards, and I thought I'd go ahead and jump on board for this week, even if it is a day late.
So here are my -Friday-Felicities-on-Saturday:
1) Celebrating 9 years of marriage with my beloved. He even made it back in town on Wednesday night, so we were able to celebrate our actual anniversary on Thursday!
2) Receiving a beautiful pair of earrings from my Beloved. When I feel especially frumpy, jewelry helps. He did good.
3) A sweet, affectionate 2 1/2+ year old who likes bugs, chalk, and cars as much as she likes wedding dresses and princesses. Sometimes more.
4) The same little girl is a great sleeper, so I'm getting all the rest I can before my days and nights are turned around with a newborn. Well, except when the insomnia kicks in from taking that afternoon nap...
5) My prenatal Yoga DVD. It helps me relax.
6) Mexican food with my Mom and Dad, who celebrated their 38th anniversary the day after our 9th.
7) Admiring classic cars in the K-mart parking lot... a little bittersweet because some of the cars reminded us of hubby's favorite uncle, who collected and restored mopars.
8) Hearing that a friend who had previously miscarried one baby heard new little one's heartbeat this week.
