buen viaje

I just spoke to my Mom. She and Dad made the drive down to Marco Island, FL safely. They're going on a dolphin-seeing cruise tonight. Dad had fried alligator nuggets and mom had frog's legs for dinner last night, they've seen several alligators in their natural habitat, and they've enjoyed vanilla/keylime ice cream and coconut ice cream. Oh, and the condo they are staying in is fabulous. (They know the owner very well and got a very good deal.)
Dad doesn't believe in the hassle of flying, he never has. Growing up, it was due to economic necessity. Now he doesn't want the hassle of checking his camera equipment through security. while the rest of us are chilly at best, freezing cold in some cases, please find it in your hearts to pray they have a safe journey. It must be nice to be retired and have the kids out of the house. Seriously, though, they deserve the break. And the heat is much better on Dad's joints and nerves than the cool air.
