barbershop

a few years ago, after we moved out of tech mom & dad's upstairs and into our own place, we returned back to our apartment after ordering our tv from sears to find $25 coupon in the mail. we didn't even have the tv in hand yet, so we went back to the store, talked to a manager, and ended up getting a $25 gift card out of the deal. we used that gift card to buy our very first (and only) clipper set. hubby was about to start police academy, and his wavy locks had to go. one day, i even scalped one of the other trainees. yep, i was officialy part of the family. up to that point, hubby's mom still cut his hair, except for while he was away at college.

playing barber is not my favorite thing to do. thankfully, hubby takes care of the clean-up, but that feeling of bits of hair... ugh... well, this weekend i couldn't delay the inevitable any longer. i had been sick for almost 2 weeks, but i was now well enough to break out the clippers and mow down hubby's hair. (people wonder where baby bear gets her waves because her daddy keeps his hair so short now). he claims it had been 8 weeks since his last trim, and that his hair was becoming a "fro".

i must admit, he looks mighty fine with a fresh haircut. some days i even miss the hubby-in-uniform with freshly cut hair combo. then i remember that we've seen more of one another the past year with his new job, and baby bear sees her daddy far more than she would have with his old job. oh, yeah, we actually get to sleep together in the same bed. it took a while getting used to that again, but i think i'll keep him around.
